How to raise an arctic fox
Arctic foxes are playful, friendly, sneaky and very talented thieves.
The arctic fox is the only native mammal of Iceland. It was in Iceland before humans came so technically, we are on HIS island. But he is sharing good even though we are not. The government in Iceland is paying people to kill arctic foxes as they are feeding on the eider ducks, chickens sometimes and eventually lambs.
When I lived in the West fjords, we received a female baby cub whose parents had been shot. We took care of her which led to many fun adventures. Our home dogs helped a lot with her education with love and authority. Our arctic fox called Zorra lived under my house, coming out in the morning at the same time as we did, waiting impatiently for breakfast.
Arctic foxes are playful, friendly, sneaky and very talented thieves. I can’t count the number of gloves, hats and mainly… shoes that we lost for leaving them few seconds unattended.
